In 2013, after earning your support, I was honored to begin representing Cumberland and Lincoln in the Rhode Island Senate. Thank you for visiting my website to gain updates on my work and I ask for your continued support in this Fall's elections.
Making it easier to do business was and remains my number one priority. While our economic situation will not be improved overnight, I have been successful in pushing the reforms needed to turn Rhode Island around. In the last few years, we have overhauled the state’s approach to economic development, reduced the corporate tax, eliminated taxes, fees and regulations, reduced the estate tax, invested in education and have put millions of dollars in job creation incentives on the table. Rhode Island today is a completely different state to do business and live in. This has culminated in victories. Just a month ago, GE made the decision to create its new Digital Division office right here in Providence!
Confidence in our government has also been a key challenge. Similar to our business climate, changing our institutions has not been an easy fight. However, I have advocated and voted for successful legislation reforming campaign finances, lobbying, eliminating the master lever, restoring ethics commission oversight and adding much greater transparency through online viewing of legislative votes, committees and full Senate sessions.
Working hard on your behalf to turn our state around has produced results but there is more work to do. I hope that you find this site informative, and I encourage you to reach out to me if I may be of any assistance to you.
With the right energy and passion for our state’s future together we can continue to make Rhode Island a great place to live and work.
Ryan will continue to deliver results, working on:
